The name Roodewal is taken from the scenically beautiful long dolerite dyke found in this area of the Kruger National Park, the ridge of which at times suggests a great wall built of massive stone blocks and overgrown with aloes, seringas and euphorbias.
Roodewal Bush Lodge is situated close to one of the most beautiful seasonal rivers in the park, the Timbavati River, which offers outstanding game viewing and is one of the attractions at Kruger National Park.
