Bateleur Camp forms part of a relatively new concept in bush lodges in the Kruger National Park where smaller, more luxurious camps are built in the more remote areas of the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Bateleur Camp is a private camp, meaning only residents are allowed in Bateleur camp and on the access roads to the camp. Each of these smaller camps are situated within easy reach of the larger rest camps so that guests can make use of the larger camps' amenities if needed.

The regular local flights to the Phalaborwa Kruger Park Gateway Airport is easily accessible from Bateleur.
Travel Routes and Times from Johannesburg/Pretoria
Phalaborwa Gate: Take the N1 toll-road to Polokwane (Pietersburg). Forty kilometres (24 miles) before Polokwane turn right onto the R71 and head for Tzaneen. After Tzaneen head towards Phalaborwa and the gate.
Guests should Allow between 6 to 7 hours for the trip to the gate. Bateleur Bush Camp is 100 kilometres (62 miles) away from the gate. Allow about 4 hours for the drive to the bush camp, however, if you want to enjoy the game viewing possibilities, give yourself more time at the Kruger National Park in South Africa.
Climate

The summer months (October to April) are hot and often balmy. Winters are warm and mild, although visitors going on night-drives will require warm clothing.
