More than 50 vintage and classic, and a few new, cars stopped over at Forever Aventura Swadini on their way to Mozambique. The Polana Classic Rally to Mozambique started again in 1995, after a 22 year break due to the war in Mozambique.
The rally, including 12 people from the Austin Healy Club in Russia, started at Tiger Wheel and Tyre in Gezina, Pretoria. There were also two entries from the MG Club in Germany and two from the United Kingdom.
The convoy of MGs, Austin Healies, Alfas and a few later models of Golfs, Toyotas, a mini or two and Citroens travelled through Marble Hall, Zebediela, Polokwane, Modjadji Kloof and Tzaneen on their way to Swadini on the first day.
An early morning start saw them off through Hazyview, Sabie, White River, Karino and Malelane. The final stretch was to the Hotel Polana where the participants stayed the Friday and Saturday nights to return on Sunday.
