Huge smiles on little faces greeted members of the Hoedspruit Air Force Base (AFB), Veronica and Dave Corlett and other delegates as they arrived at the Hluvukani Community Home Based Care Project near Manyeleti. The day marked the official opening of a jungle gym, jointly made possible by the AFB Hoedspruit and members of the Hoedspruit community.
The AFB generously provided the plans and people to build the gym, while Dave, Veronica and others raised the funds to buy the material. Col TP Du Toit, officer commanding at AFB, and Glanny Mabaso of the Centre performed the necessary official duties before little hands and feet found the new swings, ladders and walkways.
The main benefactors who made the venture possible included Veronica Corlett, Martin den Dunnen, Jurie Moolman, Cliff van Belkum, Trevor Jordan, donors in the United Kingdom facilitated by the Corletts, Bill Blevins and Haley Evans, Gezina Malan, Johan and Elsa de Villiers, Barry du Plessis, Dr Peter Rogers, Bengie du Preez, Stephen and Jane Johnson, Lee Dicks, Nick Baigent and Bertus van Zijl.
