The first annual Spring Talent festival held at the Kamogelo Centre in Hoedspruit had a great start according to the Festival committee. With 43 stalls offering anything from jewellery and art to evening dresses and delicious home made food. Moira Barnes not only won the prize for the best stall, but also the best product at the event.
Patricia Lewis added pizzaz to the proceedings, hosting the SABC2 'Supersterre" show where local talents are showcased with Patricia and three finalists in every region go through to the next round. Lindie Joubert from Lydenburg took top honours at this event, with former Hoedspruiter, Marnie Greyling and Phalaborwa based Tiffany as the other two finalists.
Lorraine and Thys Scheepers excelled to win the Potjiekos competiton. The festival was openend with a performance by the Drakensig Primary School drum majorettes. The biggest Tanzanite display in the Limpopo Province was held at Gold of Africa, where the R800 000 Miss South Africa crown was also on display. Hilde Kemp was crowned Miss Spring 2005.
