A man died as a result of a single-car accident on the road between Tshokwane and Satara. The accident occurred at about 12h55 on Christmas Day. The accident was witnessed by Gordon Jenkins, who saw the black Double CabToyota Hilux bakkie veer off the road to the right, and then overturn when the driver attempted to turn back onto the tar.
Jenkins helped remove the four uninjured children from the vehicle, but the driver could only be taken out when other people arrived and helped place the bakkie back on its wheels.
The driver had an injury to his right arm which was bleeding profusely. A SANparks bakkie arrived and the man was then taken to Skukuza in the bakkie. The man died as a result of internal injuries sustained during the accident.
