The Kruger National Park Field rangers have been on strike since February 3, 2012. Their labour union, Health and Other Service Personnel Trade Union of South Africa (HOSPERSA), will meet with the park management on March 1, after four weeks of strike action. This follows two special meetings between SANParks and HOSPERSA since February 22. The workers are unhappy with salary disparities within the park and against similar organisations, as well as the subsistence and travel policy in the park. "We hope that the outcome of the meeting on Thursday will produce positive results; our wish as management is to see the striking employees returning back to work as soon as possible." said KNP HOD of Communication and Public Relations, Mr William Mabasa.
